Some audio examples of my ambient-electronic musical project, The Radio Room Recording Company.
The Radio Room Recording Company started as an experiment in systematic compositions between one artist and the program Wavelab 3.0. I used samples from many sources - movie dialogue or atmospheres, sound effects CDs, music, etc. - and through looping and processing, I derived these "ambient" sounds. There was no traditional "composition" going on in the Radio Room - no bars or notes or keys or "normal" instruments. Sounds were processed until new interesting sounds were revealed, and then looped and processed again.
Sometimes very short segments of audio would be looped and stretched into 15 minute pieces...sometimes a 20 minute recording of a CD player skipping on a scratched disc would be cut down to a two minute piece that was then re-looped and played out as a new six-minute work.
But always -- inherent, I think, in the name of the project -- was the intention to make them sound like field recordings from places that don't exist.
